Also, that contact number is a non-working number now. I didn’t have any way to obtain financing or borrowing at all for the first 7 years of business. I’ve never had companions or traders but still don’t to this day. If there was equipment or supplies I needed in order to function, I would work a right part time or full time job and save money. Once I put what I needed, I would pay cash for it. I got my first business credit card and financed my first little bit of equipment the 7th 12 months when I induced my first auto press and bigger dryer.

After launching the business enterprise, I didn’t start to see a huge customer base for the first three years. I acquired only 10 customers at a time. With little to no overhead, I was able to get with a little customer base away, but I wasn’t satisfied with the progress I used to be making at all. Once I transferred into a little garage area that was distinct from an apartment, I put more self-confidence and didn’t feel as humiliated having customers stop by for consultations on what type of merch they wanted because of their business.
It was in my 4th year which i started seeing considerable development to where over the next 2 to 3 3 years, containers of tee shirts were spilling out of my garage area in to the driveway and backyard. Again, having little overhead was huge but I knew it was time to crunch some numbers and see if it made sense to get a genuine space that wasn’t part of the house, which was terrifying.
I kept requesting myself “what if the business failed because I moved too early, imagine if I transfer to the wrong space, what if I think I can afford it but really can’t” and a great deal of other anxiety inducing questions. Nothing went as prepared with starting the business enterprise. I didn’t have the systems set from starting to end and it was everywhere.
I was jumping backwards and forwards between emails, to printing, to determining how to price an order, and there was no structure whatsoever. I had been allowing these failures get the best of me and got to step back to see why I was doing this in the first place. Realizing that connecting with the client, building that romantic relationship, and being there for them every step of just how was the most important thing and that became my foundation.
One of the biggest first goes I made was finding a printer, stepping out from behind the press, and concentrating on sales. It had been really hard for me to hand over that control and hope that the product quality and output was the best maybe it’s. Every right time I would venture out to do in person sales or meetings, I’d constantly have to operate a vehicle back again to the garage area or call my computer printer to ensure everything was ok.
I was always worried and stressed about not being there overseeing the creation side, especially with this being my first time having a worker. That year I learned so many things within, that it felt like 10 years had already gone by. It became apparent that when deciding to bring about an employee, there would need to be clear expectations and processes set up.
This seems just like a no-brainer, but I was in the dark on how to do this. Without having the proper expectations set, therefore sets your worker up for potential devastation. The next biggest move I made was getting on an actual salesperson. That was a life-changer. I met my first sales man and his family by chance at a picture aim for a baby/kids clothing and supply company of mine. After a quick conversation, both of us realized he worked well for an existing customer of mine.
