Vanity Fair ran what was supposed to be a profile of the webs six most influential women; however Vanity Fair has become yet another example of the inability of mainstream media to take the the internet seriously. Everyone one of the women listed in the article is incredibly hardworking and passionate about their career as well as the industry they are apart of.
This article has begun to have a ripple effect around the web given the condescending tone of the article. I begs the reader to interpret this type of scathing review of internet culture as nothing more than fear on the part of mass media for their inability to grasp the market that the internet has. The real shocker is that the article was written by a woman who tones done the success of these women by calling them girls and raising accusations of the legitimacy of their craft. With the magazine and print media industry suffering like it is I am rather surprised that anyone could doubt the prowess of these women.
The world premiere of Kick-Ass, the movie adaptation of Mark Millar and John S. Romita Jr.’s excellent comic about amateur superheroes, will open the South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival on March 12.
Kick-Ass stars Aaron Johnson as Dave Lizewski, a fanboy who channels his superhero obsession into becoming a crime-fighter. His costumed comrades include Hit Girl (played by Chloë Grace Moretz), Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) and Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse).

Nintendo aims to release the new Legend of Zelda game for Wii in 2010, company president Satoru Iwata said Wednesday.
In an interview with the Asahi Shimbun, Iwata said that the recent release of New Super Mario Bros. Wii has reenergized flagging Wii sales in Japan, and that Nintendo would aim to release more games that will keep the momentum going. To that end, Nintendo will announce a game this July that will use the Vitality Sensor controller that Iwata showed at last year’s E3, and release Zelda by the end of the year.
The new Legend of Zelda will use the Wii MotionPlus controller add-on.
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick the duo behind Zombieland and Sony’s proposed Venom movie have been given the green-light to script the upcoming and highly anticipated Deadpool movie Vanity Fair reports. The writers are reportedly sticking very close to the original Deadpool mythology given that actor Ryan Reynolds is a huge fan of the character and requested to have the character stick to his comic book roots. With the writers on board this is sure to be a bloody and exiting adaptation of the original comic.
Anime News Network reported in October about the a two film adaptation of Hiroya Oku’s ultra-violent Gantz manga/anime series. The series will star Kazunari Ninomiya and award winning actor Kazunari Ninomiya, Shinsuke Sato is directing both films.

The story follows a young Tokyo college student who is reanimated after a deadly subway accident. Kei Kurono (Ninomiya) and his friend Masaru Kato (Matsuyama) go on violent, seemingly endless missions at the behest of an unseen host.
The project is budgeted at 4 billion yen (about US$45 million).When asked about the extremely violent nature of the movie, Ninomiya said,
“I’m happy with just appearing in a work that I love so much! I’ll try my very best to make everyone love it too!” Matsuyama said, “This work has so many original and bold points. I’m going to try to tackle the challenge of this new kind of movie.”
